Canadian Living Magazine

Mary Tidlund was just featured in an article in the Dec issue of Canadian Living Magazine.  Mary continues to provide The Ssubi Foundation with support and guidance and we often discuss our related works in Uganda. This year the Mary Tidlund Foundation helped support Ssubi building the library and teacher accommodations at Palenga Primary School. We wish to thank the Mary Tidlund Foundation for all there support.

Ayila Primary School in Amuru District

Dusman just returned from a trip to Amuru District where he visited the school we plan on helping in 2011 by building  classrooms. The school has six teachers and over 600 students and currently make use of two temporary built classroom structures. For more information check out the Looking Ahead Page. For the love of Reading

The Library we built in Palenga this past summer has been a big success with each class from P4 to P7 assigned library time as part of their daily routine. Teachers report that at lunch and after school the library has been full with students since opening. So far 261 books have been borrowed and returned since they started letting students borrow in early Sept 2010. The offical school librarians Jimwe and Okullu recently attended a librarian workshop.  The only issue is a shortage of book shelves to hold all the text and reading material for over 1000 students
