Ground Breaking Ceremony at Lela Obaro

Today ground was broken at Lela Obaro Primary School in Gulu District by the community, students and government officials to initiate the building of a classroom block, office and latrines by The Ssubi Foundation. The Foundation was very honoured to have Jacob Oulanyah, Speaker of Parliament for Uganda and Vincent Ocheng, Gulu District Education Officer at the event today.  Both these individuals continue to be supportive of Ssubi and provide invaluable guidance to help ensure our work is a success on the ground in Uganda. Here are some of the pictures from the day.

A Few Speeches: Gathering of community, students, teachers and government officials at ground breaking ceremony

Empowerment: Dusman providing a few words on the foundations expectations of the Lela Obaro Community and empowering the community to get involved and help the school to become a model learning environment

Officials: Ian (Ssubi Volunteer), Philip, Honorable Jacob Oulanyah, Dusman, Vicent Ocheng at opening ceremony.
