PO BOX 30070 RPO Chinook The Ssubi Foundation raises money to help Ugandan children obtain an education. We use this money to support schools in Uganda, East Africa through the development of structures (classrooms, teacher accommodations and toilet blocks), teacher support (salaries, training, resource materials), sponsoring of underprivileged children as well as providing micro-loans to sponsor-student families. The Ssubi Foundation has many plans for 2011, including helping a community school in Amuru district with over 500 students. The school does not have permanent classrooms, teacher accommodations, administration offices, latrines or library. In addition they lack a full set of textbooks and sporting equipment. The Ssubi Foundation plans to help develop school infrastructure and are currently speaking with the school administration and district education officers to prioritize infrastructure needs. This year we will also be exploring the use of environmentally friendly bricks called interlocking soil stabilizing bricks to replace the fire backed red bricks which contribute to deforestation and the clearing of wetlands in Uganda. For more information on our plans for 2011, please see the Looking Ahead page. Thank you for helping The Ssubi Foundation, help the children of Uganda.
